With reference to your despatch No. 22

(2/50/1936) of the 6th February last relative to the

registration of the Hong Kong and Swatow Commercial

Bank Limited in accordance with sections 216-221 of

the China Order-in-Council 1925, and to the question

of affording or withholding British protection under

Section 221 (2) of the Order-in-Council, I have the

honour to transmit to you herewith copies of all the

documents filed i.e.

(1) Certificate of Incorporation

not enclosed) (2)

Memorandum and Articles of Association

(3)

Statement of nominal capital and amount

thereof subscribed and paid up

(4) List of Directors with their addresses

and nationality

(5) List of Shareholders

(6) Names and addresses of Representatives in

Canton.

It will be observed that the above named

Company was incorporated under the Hong Kong Companies

Ordinance 1932 on the 31st December 1934 and that all

the Directors and Shareholders are of Chinese

nationality.

The Canton branch was opened towards the

end of 1935 and was registered at this Consulate-

Peking.
